Trying to put together some options for a small grocery store (iga type) based around an Axxess which would also be new. They have 6-10 floor managers they would like to supply cordless phones so they can have them on the floor with them. I was initially thinking Engenius but they get very pricey between the cost of the phones plus analog card(s). Never done Spectralink but its looking like that would price out similar, maybe a little less. INT4000's would be by far be the least expensive route, not sure if they are up to the task though? I've heard very mixed reviews on them.
Digital features and voicmail indicators would be nice since the INT and the Spectralink would have that.

The INT4000 is fine as long as it stays in a open area. A transceiver mounted on the ceiling centered in the main shopping area would work well. However, if they go to the docks, or outside, there's no connection. The INT3000 has a much greater range, but, of course, it is no longer available. I recently purchased one of 5 remaining at Inter-Tel.

i just pulled out an INT4000 to look at and try and it is a nice small form factor. range appears to be only fair but like you said if the base is mounted in the center ceiling it could cover their main floor area anyway without much of a problem. they are so much less expensive compared to the other options even if they had to replace a couple over the years they may be better off. heck the overall price difference is thousands.
i wish they made a leather case for them but they don't. i also wish it had an external changeable battery instead of internal but i guess thats how the cost is kept down.

The easy access to the digital features and voicemail options are the issue. If not for that Uniden has made some very nice outdoor type ones that we've used in the past. Very durable and on the 900Mhz Spread Spectrum we've gotten very good range. We have one office using them in Dallas hooked to an Axxess. The attorney that has a second floor office can take his to the bar in the hotel across the street and gets GREAT reception.
Unfortunately that is an EXP model that is Pre-CID. They're hard to find anymore.
