problem: unable to get key code 10 (immediate call forward) to work
- SV8100 running 4.01
- system would originally allow key to be programmed to "10" but wouldn't allow the added data field to be populated with the cell phone number (repeated attempts)
- called NTAC they checked programming then said to use PCPro instead of WebPro
- sure enough, I was then able to add the "additional data field info" but the key still doesn't work
- what happens is: The key doesn't immediately turn on as you would expect. When key is pressed, it brings up a menu of 1 to enable CFWD and 0 to cancel
- I put the same key on our system at the office on my phone
- when pressed, the key's red LED lights, and I get all calls to my cellphone - when pressed again the light goes out - this is how I've always had this feature work in the past - in other words so to speak, (ON/OFF)
- Since I've used this feature on many 4.01 systems, I know it's NOT a firmware issue (I don't think bring it up to ver. 8 is going to resolve this
- NTAC simply says it should work and I'll go back to them next week on this
- phone is in a class of service with off-site option available, but I may have missed something there
- if one (1) is pressed, system simply ignores and stays off
But I just thought maybe one of you here may know what I've left out of programming or what I'm doing wrong/overlooking...?

Have you tried call forward using the soft keys to see if you get the same results?

Any specific reason you don't want to upgrade?
I'm surprised NTAC even spoke to you on a release that old.

I suppose NEC was OK since ver. 4 was a very solid release and this feature worked well in that version.
Why not upgrade? "version 6 then version 7" and then the fact that this is a "very packed" 3 cabinet SV8100 system that is never idle - also not having any other issue - why possibly introduce any new variable while another issue exists - I also don't believe this issue is related to that software version - I will eventually "likely" upgrade over some major holiday

dans . . .
I'm not sure or don't recall - I did try manual forwarding if that's what you mean - Best I recall, that didn't work either, but I had so many changes to be made that day, I honestly thought about it more after I left...
I actually thought maybe one of you had run in to this issue. (I guess looking for a quick way out) I will get back to this issue again shortly and will do that. No excuse, but I've been quite sick the last week and may not be at my best.
