G'day from Down Under.

Just curious as to know whether there is a function to 'connect' 2 MLT Extensions so that if one is called the other will? Similar to 'Call Forward both ring' but a function that will not ruin any ability for call forwards?

Im aware the Samsung Officeserv systems have this function called 'Master-Slave'

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Chalky.

It's called Call Coverage Keys.

So using a virtual extension as the number and having an virtual line key on each phone? I thought of doing that but was wondering if there was an easier way.

Cheers Coral Tech!

Chalky,

You only have to have the key on the "Slave phone". You basically put a virtual ext key on the "Slave phone" and tell the virtual key to use the extension of the "Master phone".

IE: Master phone is ext. 100, Slave phone 102. On slave phone put a "virtual key" (call coverage key) for ext. 100. 102 will now ring (if the key if programmed to) when someone calls 100.

One more question,

What about using a MLT and a Dect/SLT phone?

Cheers.

Generally we would make the SLT the main extension number and cover it to the Digital set.

Ah I see, so this could work for both the SLT and the Dect phone.

Yes if you are using an SLT or Wireless handset you will need to make the SLT or wirless the "Master". I don't know if the 8100 has this problem but on the Aspire and I-series you couldn't answer a virtual that was on an extra key (a key that you can program that doesn't actually exist on the phone) on either a Wirelss or SLT even if you had the system set to automatically pickup calls. Just one of those funny little quirks in NEC's systems.
