Morning Andy. How are things out in beautiful Rhode Island?
Here's the good news. You don't even have to run UM software to get voicemails. Our people get their voicemails on PDAs or even cell phones. Here's how we have it set up.
Level I UM will send the .wav file straight to the email box. Our people are using Outlook to check their email. What we do is check the box in Outlook to leave a copy of messages on the server for 14 days. Now even if their computer is on at work, and Outlook checks the email, there is still a copy of the email with the .wav attachment in the box. When they check the email from their PDA, the .wav file comes in and they listen to it.
As for cell phones, we set them up a little differently as they don't want a copy of all their email going to their cell phone.
Those who get their VMs on their cell phone have an additional email address that does a multibox blast. For instance the AxxessoryTalk sends the email to
[email protected]. davesmail is nothing but a forward that blasts to Dave's real mailbox, and to Dave's cell phone. When Dave gets a VM, the .wav goes straight to his cell phone. No calling in to check messages etc. He just presses the read key and the .wav plays on his phone.
I have mine set up to do all of the above. Desk, PDA, & cell phone.
Hope this helps.
