So I have an OS7400 that we have remote IP phones working. My ITP-5121D (v3.18) works from my remote office and the SMT-i5220 (v1.40) does not. What is odd is that I had the SMT on-site yesterday on the internal network and it worked just fine. I would think that it might be a port forwarding issue, however, if that was the case, wouldn't the ITP phone not work also?
When a call is placed to/from the SMT to another ext (VOIP/normal), it will ring, but as soon as it is answered, it is silent. If I initiate an outbound call on the SMT to my cell, I hear silence after I dial the number. If I wait in silence, it will ring on my cell. When I answer it, again, nothing. The ITP phone works in every way that I can tell.
Im told by IT that all UDP ports from 30000-30064 are open and pointing to the OAS card. Any ideas what I might be missing? Thanks in advance!

Is the phone set for the internal or extal address, sounds like the internal if it works on site. Also check the 40000 ports

Check to make sure that you are allowing the correct ports on the firewall of the remote site for the SMT phone. IF they are not allowed through then you can make a connection but your sound will not be right.

You can check itp status and see if one is set to public w/firewall, and if the other is not. Also check the 40000 thru 40031 ports too, although I can't remember if those are used by the 7400 off the top of my head.

40000 - 40031 are the MPS ports that are used so that you can save your MGI resources. If you are not using MPS then you don't need that.
Make sure that you have the public system ip configured into that phone as the system address.

Both phones have the correct system IP. Both are sitting right next to each other on my desk. If one works, the other should. Port forwarding is setup right since the one works perfectly. Both phones identify themselves on the phone system and can ring each other. I just can't get voice traffic it seems like.
We have disabled MPS, so the 40000+ ports shouldn't matter.
Other ideas?

I keep forgetting that they got rid of public w/firewall option on the 7000 series systems, so no joy there. What version of software are you running on the 7400? Do you have an older ITP phone that you can register as that extension to test with?

I just had an issue on a OS7400 that was upgraded to 4.60b from 4.46d where i had to move the local smt-i5220 phones onto the same subnet as the mp40/mgi64 as they were getting no speech and causing the mgi64 card to restart.
Do you have both phones registered at once? There was a problem a few years ago on the OS7100 MP10 4.14 firmware where multiple remote ip phones from the same location would alternate which phone has speech, this was fixed in 4.14k hower

Both phones were registered from the same IP address. Perhaps that is the issue. I will look into it further. Thanks for all the help and ideas.
