Okay so the other night I went to a service call for a fax line being down and it turned out to be a PRI DID targeted to an ASTU card in a CTX100.

I could call out through the ASTU port and when I called in to the DID I could pick up the call with my test set but it wasn't ringing. I grabbed an RSTU card and put it in an open port in the system (that just happened to be programmed for an RSTU already) and I got the same results. I'm guessing now that the original RSTU slot failed so they installed the ASTU and now it has failed, or at least I should say the slot has failed.

I was able to mount the RSTU in another slot and everything worked no problem so I'm just wondering how often this happens and if there is anything that can be done to repair the slot in the system. I have actually had this exact issue with a CIX670 as well.

Did you try to reset the white breakers to see if that helps?

Yep, tried that and it didn't fix anything. Just weird that the ports would work but wouldn't ring.

Not so much of a problem to have a dead slot in a 670 but when a slot in a 100 goes bad you run out of options pretty quick.

We had some dodgy MF cards on early ctx100 causing problems and a few ports on 2wire cards go down due to lightning strikes just takng a port or 2 out but apart from that all good
