A customer has a Merlin Legend R7, the problem is that a couple of phones will start a ticking sound and then go out. There are six phones that do this. At times when these phones are doing this the system will shut down.
I've checked all of the cables and replaced the telehone sets and the problem still continues, the phones are on seperate modules. Any ideas?

What is left? The processor? Is it pots lines or a T1.

The ticking sound heard in the phones is usually heard when the system is rebooting. Probably a power supply or the processor.

It is feed by cable provided pots lines. My thoughts were the modules only it is happening on two seperate ones. If it is the power supply or processor, why only the six phones?

Just a follow up, it turned out to be 3 of the phones were bad and they were taking out the others.
