Today I tried to connect but got this message:
Connection failed! xxxx:Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {257CCBE4-AB9E-4CA5-8606-EED0DE42F78B} failed due to the following error: 8007007e.
I am assuming this is a Windows problem

Searching online it appears to be something in Windows so I am thinking I might have to reinstall some elements.

FIXED.
Nothing had changed on the computer. The server is only doing this function. Don't do updates, don't surf with it etc. (bought a rebuilt dell from servermonkey.com)
I noticed that I couldn't even run ipconfig in a Command window. So I redid the path environment variable, restarted and that seems to have taken care of it.
Ah Windows.
