Howdy,
I need (35) ports of PoE for a new install and am looking for a recommendation for a PoE switch.
Customer will have a 7200-S with (35) phones. We have our own data jacks available and will need to provide switches. Customer will start with analog CO lines but hope to move to SIP trunks in the future.
It looks like I can get (2) 24-Port Ubigates for a decent price. Do y'all recommend them or have worked with them?
Any other recommendations for a PoE switch? They'll just be ours for the phones.

We are all Dell here. Good switches in my opinion.

I've used HP (Procurve) extensively. Something from the 2620 or 2520 series would probably suit. Lifetime NBD replacement and firmware updates (as they do actually fix firmware bugs) does reduce TCO.
Whatever you do use check the power budget - it's rare for switches to provide full 802.3af (PoE) or 802.3at (PoE+) power on all ports simultaneously, however the phones should only be class 1 or 2.

The Ubigate switches are rebadged Acton (chinese brand).
They work fine for PoE, layer 2 managed also which isn't bad.
They support full PoE on all 24 10/100 or 10/100/1000 (depending on model) ports.
The 10/100 has 4 gigabit (2 shared SFP) ports which are usefull to plug the system and oas cards into so you don't waste PoE ports. Also use them for uplink.
I've installed a few of them.

We've been using the Ubigates quite a bit. The only issue I've had with them is on a site with a Mitel. For some reason, both switches won't respond to web administration after running for a few weeks. They operate fine at the time and I only notice the issue when I want to look up LLDP information and can't log in. That site has multiple VLANs, trunks between switches, and a permanant port mirror for OAISYS voice recording, so I suspect they run out of resources after a period of time. A reboot sorts them out. On less intense sites, we've had no problem with them at all (we only use the gigabit variety). I -would- like to find firmware updates to try and fix the above problem, as the Samcom site in AU doesn't have much for them that I can see.
You know.. that guy.. with the thing.

Well, I bought (2) 24-port PoE Samsung Ubigate switches.
Now, what the hell do I do with them? For the most part, you can plug them in and use them out of the box. You might like to set the ip addresses for management. Also, you should know how to save the config so any changes you make survive a reboot. These are some notes I made for our techs.
Ubigate switch: Quick and dirty notes.
User/Pass admin/admin
RS232 port - 9600/8/N/1
**********************************************
Set IP address:-
Connect via RS232 with Hyperterminal or similar.
Type these commands (the text after the #). Use your own IP address/Netmask/Gateway.
#configure
(config)#interface vlan 1
(config)#ip address 192.168.123.123 255.255.255.0
(config)#exit
#ip default-gateway 192.168.123.231
#end
#copy running-config startup-config
You can now disconnect and login with a web browser pointed at the ip address you just set.
**********************************************
Save config via web browser session (assuming you are already logged in):-
* In the menu tree at the left, open System, then File Management, then click on Copy Operation.
* In the first drop down menu, select "running-config to startup-config".
* In the Destination File Name drop down menu, select startup1.cfg.
* Click the Apply button at the bottom left of the screen, and OK when it completes.
**********************************************
