Hi Everyone,
We are having a really strange issue with our system. We have an Inter-Tel Axxess with 10 POTS lines coming into it. Approximately one out of ten calls into our building will get a fax/modem tone. You can hear a slight click when the system picks up and then the fax tone. Occasionally you can hear our greeting playing in the background as well as the fax sound. There is an external 56K modem hooked up for remote access but it is disconnected now. Any ideas? Troubleshooting this is driving me crazy!

Have your phone tech check the integrity of your CO lines...sounds like you have a cross with a co and a fax/modem line.
