This is the first time I've ever seen this.
We have a phone that looks exactly like a 520.4300 (basic 8 button)except the label on it states that it's a 520.4000 (first time I've seen that part #)...has anyone else ever seen this?
What up with that?

Tom, see Rhett's information below. I've got several that are apparently just tagged wrong.

There is actually quite a few differences but the most recognizable is the newer phones have red/green LED's, the older were just red LED's.

Basic Keyset with red LED's 520.4000

Yep, and people often change the bottom housings and/or base stands without chaging the label. You can tell the "old" style (red LEDs only) as the top housing has a horizontal channel across it at the angle and the top housing is actually two pieces.

Paul -the ones we have look exactly like the 520.4300 -one piece top and has the clear buttons but only red leds. I just tested it and the self test only gives red leds. From looking at it the 520.4000 and 520.4300 are identical 8 button basic- other than the LED's. I have just never seen one until now.

Strange, maybe there was a later "old" version that had the "newer" one piece top housing... That or someone managed to put a new top housiing on an old style phone. I never bothered to see if you could swap the top housings.
The very few "old style (red LED only)" phones I have here all have the two piece top.

Hey Jeff,
Inter-Tel has my hands tied

If you hold down the # and * while plugging in the line cord it will do a self test. The hookswitch will advance it on to the next test until it is done.
