I have an Avaya VPN phone at a remote site which I will call Site B. I am trying to get it to connect to the phone system at Site A but it is stuck at "Discover 192.x.x.x".

If I take this same VPN phone to a residential network, it works just fine. It just will not work at Site B.

At Site A, there is a Cisco ASA which is providing the VPN. At Site B there is another ASA but there is no site-to-site VPN. At first, I had trouble with it not being able to VPN from Site B, until I opened port 500 outbound on the ASA at Site B. Now it will VPN, but not connect.

I have also configured the following, which didn't resolve it:

policy-map global_policy
class inspection_default
no inspect h323 h225
no inspect h323 ras
no inspect sip

no fixup protocol tftp 69
no fixup protocol h323 h225 1720
no fixup protocol h323 ras 1718-1719
no fixup protocol sip udp 5060
no fixup protocol skinny 2000

I am stumped. Please help!

Thanks,

puppy

Couple things: what is the subnet address for each site? Can you ping the IPO from site B? Can you ping the gateways from site A to B and B to A?

There are number reasons that are responsible for this if you know your IP address type it in address bar and enter. If this works than contact your network administrator probably may be its DNS resolution problem.

Ditto!

Have seen it several times when the remote site has a poor internet connection.
