About 2 out of every 10 incoming calls display this behavior. The phone rings I pick up the headset and hear silence after about 5-10 seconds I hear the mic open on the other end and I can talk to the other person. What they hear on the other end of the phone is the regular ring tone while I hear silence. Any ideas?

Are the calls being answered by auto att. or do they ring to you live?

They ring live at all stations.

What type of trunks? T1, POTS, PRI?
If POTS, can you test at the demarc with a test set?
