We have one client who's vmail channels are being locked-out on the side of the KSU (FX-II). All channel view on interchange side are all idle but it normally locks-out channels 1 & 2. They would notice because they normally seize channels 3 & 4. Not sure yet if it's escalating up to 3 & 4. Kindly advise. Thanks. sonny88

Ring each voice mail port individually. Make sure ext 1 answers with port 1, ext 2 answers port 2 etc. I'd suspect the line cords are reversed for 1/2 and 3/4 causing the calls to come in on 3 and 4 first. The ringing of each individual VM ext will tell if that is the case.

On my system sometimes one of the IST line ports gets "stuck" off hook... I have to restart the PBX to fix it Knock on wood, it hasn't happened in a few months though -J

yes compu_85, that's what our client is doing (restarting the KSU) but still happens specially on the 1st channel.
update to RBF: tested all lines and it's where it should be 1-4 and no cords reversed.
we found a direct-ring configured though on the 1st vm station and removed it...hopefully that's the fix. keep you posted. thanks again.

It always happens on the first channel on my system as well. I suppose that one gets the most use, so if there was some sort of wear occurring it would be the first to fail.

hi rbf/compu_85, removal of the direct-ring didn't fix it...it was fine for 2 to 3 days then back to locking-out first channel then second channel after another 2 days.
any other options we can try. thanks much and have a great weekend! /sonny

My next step would be to print the log file for the last 3 days. Each 24 hour period will have a date coded folder. It's in plain text file format. I'd look there next. Depending on software rev you might be able to enable BlackBox to see what causing your issue.
