other direction...some UX can be used on SV but of course they are limited to UX functions.
SV can not go back in time to be useful on the UX.

This is incorrect. With the new 3.52 software MANY of the SV cards can be used on the UX5000.

That being said there are many features on the UX that are not available on the SV8100 and vise versa.

Coral Tech...thank you for the correction. I made a mistake and had assumed the soft ver was older. I mixed reading two posts about the same thing...mental note: go to sleep when you are actually tired!!!

This is good news! I was not aware of that. So, as a follow up question - if I install the SV8100 digital station interface in the UX5000 - will it run UX phones, SV phones or (hopefully) both?
Can't get the UX5000 phones any more - and I have a large number of installed UX5000s in the field.

I have no issues getting NEC UX phones from NEC. SOme delays but I order I get. In fact I just got like 12 last month for an add. I am pretty sure they have a dual purpose card that can be installed in a UX or an SV and you can even switch the front color plate out if you want.
