Ok Guys I was back up and tried all that... turns out I was confused when I had tried to program stuff on the 30 button phone. Actually the system just won't take 70,76, 700, 760, or 761 (I didn't try the codes for internal page groups) Or the codes for voice-mail. But luckily the default button lay out for the 30 button phones does have an all call page and a VM button preprogrammed so I can make it work.

I really don't know a lot about this phone system's history or origins, To the best of my knowledge it is a Vodavi Triad system. The guy I took over management from had always worked off of a pdf user manual from an STSe system when he had to do programing changes. Both the STSe and Triad pdfs that I've found have all the same dial codes for programing the flex buttons as far as I've noticed. From your experience is it possible I actually have some other model of phone system that would have completely different feature codes? The programing works find for assigning flex buttons to CO lines or as BLFs but that's the only thing I've been able to program them to do.

Any thoughts you may have are most appreciated, thank you all for your times and comments. I'm kinda stumped on this one.

ps. I did have a spare 30 btn phone so was able to just set that up on the new extension and program the line buttons the way they like them and leave everything else default and was good, I also enabled the station lock while I was out there so I don't have to revisit this issue any time soon.

I think all if not most of the codes are the same. There were some minor changes depending on the software release. You can always do a database print out of the codes to confirm them. They would all work when programming flex buttons on the target phone itself. There are/were only a couple that were different or didn't work using a remote connection.

Dave,

Thanks for that idea, I didn't realize that the database printout (dump) would contain the default numbering plan, I'll have to print it to a file so that I can find what is in the system. Sounds like it'd be the cat's meow

Try dialing 605 from any phone and getting the software version number and posting it aback here.

Hey Guys Thanks for all the help, I did finally get it.

Derrick - I didn't see your post till after I got back from that location, I did do the system Dump though and the system says "Eng. V4.16 P02-2FE3"

MnDave - If this were experts exchange you'd be the winner! once I dumped the config I found that the system had been configured w/ a Flex number for all system numbers. Therefor 700 for all call became 1700.

Thanks again everybody for all the help.

There you go...no idea that it had four digit extension numbers.
