Last week, I had to restart our DX-120 at least once a day to get the automated attendant to start working again. I was told by a technician by our phone provider that the voicemail system had some corrupt files that he removed, and that the voicemail card is going bad. I've been quoted as much as $1600.00 plus labor to replace it!

I'm an experienced PC and Network technician. Replacing the card seems pretty simple at first blush, my only question concerns transferring the existing automated attendant, its recordings and settings, and the stored voicemails. Are these all on the 128MB flash card? If so will simply pulling it from the old card and installing it on the new one transfer everything?

Another detail: When the voicemail would go down, if I looked at the DX Link software it would show that all the ports were being taken up with calls. I assume this is why we could not access the AA or VM. However, there were not calls coming in at the time (verified this with service provider).

$1,600????? The CF cards tend to corrupt on these if there's power spikes. A number of dealers here may be willing to sell you a new formatted CF card to replace yours at a reasonable price.

Don't copy the files, you'll just transfer any corruption.

That would mean we lose all voicemails and automated attendant settings though, doesn't it?
