Hi all,
My first time posting here! I run hotels for a living and have a feeling, had I found this forum earlier, I could have saved myself years of hair pulling in various properties.
My current issue is this. I have a TVA-50 coupled to about 4 KX-T7431 in various office throughout the building. The hotel has 4 roaming lines for in coming calls. What I was hoping to do was select one of these 4 lines, not the master roaming line number but one of the other 3, and have it so when that number is dialed, it rings on only one particular extension handset.
Does any one know how to do this?

The first thing you'll need to do is figure out what type of KSU/control unit you're working with (TVA50 is the voice mail unit, not the KSU). Maybe you meant to say you've got a TDA50.....but with 74xx phones in a hotel application I'm more inclined to guess you've got an older 1232.
Once you've verified the KSU model, and assuming you've got the system password, post back here and we can point you to the right field of system programming. But, honestly, it may save you more "hair pulling" just to call a tech to help you.

From the time frame, you're looking at a TD-816 or TD-1232. Don't confuse the 4 lines with incoming and outgoing. You can usually dial the 8x code to access a specific line, or use outgoing line preference--you do have a user's guide don't you?. However, making an inbound line ring a phone is something different. It's simple, but go back to those 4 lines. If the first 3 are busy, does the 4th ring? How the hunt group is set up, will determine programming. You basically need to install a "private" line that appears on only one phone for outbound. All of that information is part of the 1232 Users Manual, or the Programming Guide.
Try to get a complete set of manuals, or just call an experienced Pana programmer.

Hi Guys,
Thank you for the responses to my question. I am running the TD-1232 KSU, I do have all the relevant programming and user manuals for all the units in the hotel. I am used to programming the phones myself....I have often lived in parts of Australia where there was not option to get a phone tech out. The issue is that I can not find the relevant section in the manual as I am unsure exactly what you would call what I am trying to do.

If you take the 4th number and point it to 1 extension and you ring that number it will ring that phone only. If the lines have hunting/ rolling lines that 4 th line could ring in from a call from the main line and that will ring that one phone only as well
You will have to get your phone company to remove that line from hunt group
Then look at dil1:1 or dil 1:n to get that line/co to ring that one phone
“I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”
