Can anyone provide guidance on what to look for on a sporadic restart of an ASPIRE S system? We thought it was somehow associated with the VOIP card, so we took it out for a couple of weeks. The system didn't restart, so we purchased and installed another VOIP card. System has been stable for a couple of months until this weekend. The VOIP phones quit registering, and then today the system completely restarted on it's own.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Darryl

Check and see if your UPS is failing and if you don't have one get one. I would start there.

Coral Tech, thanks for the response.

We actually have a new (maybe 3 months old) UPS on the PBX. The old one had gone bad.

Originally, we thought it was the VOIP card, and removed it for several weeks. The problem went away. Replaced the card, and the problem didn't reoccur for almost a month now.

Also, we have all but (1) slot loaded on the system. Could there be some power supply issue?

Thanks again for your help.

Could be anything but if you had to replace that UPS you might want to make sure you didn't get a bad one. Sure sounds like a power issue IMHO. I mean you could have a bad power supply in that cabinet also or a bad ground. System is starting to get old.

Also make sure something isn't pinging the voip and ip cards. I have seen routers DOS attack devices before.

Thanks for all the advice Coral Tech!!

I'll have our IT guy monitor activity to the phone system. I'll also consider replacing the power supply in the cabinet.
