In the past I have always used Edgmarc routers as my middle man between Accessline and MBX or SBX systems.

MBX / SBX use Proxy address as the LAN of Edgemarc and the Edgmarc has all the proxy info to do the translations of SIP.

What other routeers and methods are you guys using??

Are you putting public IP's into the MBX and letting it talk directly to accessline??
How safe is that??

What special programming in a router are you guys doing to pass SIP properly??

Anyone using Sonicwall TZ 215 or any Sonicwall model.

Thanks for any feedback.
Vinny

Hey Vinny,

Not to sure how much help I can be since I've never tried doing exactly what your talking about. I haven't had any MBX/SBX customers who wanted to access sip/voip services. That said, we do support a 100% VOIP pbx from a different vendor, and have done all sorts of stuff with sip/voip trunking and remote extensions etc. So far we always set up the info in the router to do NAT translation, and fwd ports through from the WAN IP:Port to the internal network. We also use SonicWALL TZ215 (Or other model depending on the needs of the network)routers as our go-to for most of our network installs. That said, on or VOIP PBX vendor's forums SonicWALLs are known to cause issues with SIP. We have a number of installs that we haven't had any trouble with, but we also have a couple where we just have weird issues with things like rtp ports not always closing after a call is completed etc.
