I have an opportunity to upgrade the software on my Axxess phone system. I currently have v5.118 and it is working well.

I would REALLY like to be able to program the system over TCP/IP but I don't know what version that would require.

I am also unsure about what version you would need to start swapping out hardware at....

I did see that v9 allows caller-id for single-line phones. That would be real nice, but something tells me an upgrade would cost as much as a sub-compact car would....

I have access to v8.201, v7.004 and v6.006 but don't know if I should fool with any of them.

Anyone?

on v6 and v7 you will need the software Pals. You will also need to upgrade your t-1 cards, cpu and vm.

V8 and higher uses the CPC card.

It sounds like you may have just the CDs. This is only a small piece of what it takes to upgrade the software

Version 8.0 is the demarcation point where a processor would be required. The new processor is call a CPC and has a built-in ethernet port. I think you would be surprised at the quote from an Inte-Tel dealer/reseller to upgrade yer system to the latest version (9.1XX).

What voicemail platform do you have, OS2 or Windows NT/2000?

We currently have the NT VM.

I do have an old quote from a few years back, the shock has leveled out but is still there!

I was just hoping that with my working with the system for the last few years I might have made it to a level that I could have a DIY update.

From what I read it looks like I can only go ot v7 if my PAL's are updated, but without the networking piece I don't see a reason to mess with my system.

Looks like serial-over-ethernet adapters are my next best choice.

Thanks everyone!
