Hi all,
I've got a 8520 handset that has a DID (5083) assigned to it as well as a phantom extension (5875). How do I remove or disassociate the 5875 number from the 5083 number but leave the 5875 available for future association with another extension. Thanks.

How is the phantom extension assigned to it?

Pardon my noobiness but I'm not sure how the phantom extension is assigned. I know merely that if you call either number it rings at that extension, and the 5083 # is what shows up on the phone's display. In the GUI both phones have mailboxes. Thanks.

You have a DID of 5083 assigned to what extension?
5875, is this another DID, or is this a station with a mailbox?
Lets start with guessing that maybe you have one of the stations set up as a "secondary extension". Go to either station in your "stations" list, then look at their "programmable keys". Im guessing that one of these might have a key programmed as a secondary extension of the other phone.

Hi there, RCA,
Thanks for the suggestion re: programmable keys, which was right on the money. I changed the definition for the configuration item to Undefined Key and that took care of it. Have a good weekend.
