The 3300 demo kit was set up and has been running for several weeks. Suddenly, we can't login to it. My manager tries reinstalling the software manually because the Mitel SW installer didn't work. He says the system appeared to take the SW install. However, he logs into the system via the web GUI, clicks on system administration but there are no options in the far left column. He passes the problem to me. Ha!

I install the current SW several times but can't because I'm running a Windows 8 machine. When I run the MCD_Installation software, the system kicks out a message stating it cannot be run because I'm using Windows 8. Tried on a machine running Windows 7 and it didn't work. Well, it appeared as though it didn't work. I ran into the same problem as before: logged into the system via web GUI but there are no system options in the far left column.

I tried an old SW version: 12.0.1.24 and it appeared to have downloaded but same issue as before. I took a snippit of the interface but there doesn't appear to be a way to attach it to this post.

Anyway, suggestions?

Make sure your level of java is set to the lowest possible security setting.

Not just that, but you may even need to set a security exception in the Java control panel on your PC. Latest version of Java likes to assume the worst and block a LOT more than it used to. Been having these problems with our building engineers at work not being able to login the to their HVAC control systems.
