Hello again....slowly working through surprise issues since last week and here is the latest unsolved one.

When on site, I can dial 0 from a phone and my call is forwarded to the operator at the front desk, which is ext 300.

Since last week, when anyone calls in from off site, and dials 0, they are forwarded to an AT&T/callingcard recording asking them to enter their calling card # or credit card number. Previously, dialing 0 sent the call to ext 300 where it can be fielded.

Can someone explain where in the Admin menu, I can set 0 to go to ext 300 as it used to ?

Here are the menu details for the 0 mailbox as it is now :

----------------------------------------------

- directory name is 3

- enter new passcode

- extension is 901639332982309 (this # string dials out to the AT&T number when I dial it on site)

- notification type is disabled

- notification # is not set

- user access to the notification number is not set

- mailbox type is transfer only

---------------------------------------------

Really sounds like someone is hacking your system. Have you changed the Manager access code too?
You need to go to mailbox editing.

Thanks Steve, can you explain what I need to adjust in mailbox editing?

I've gone into edit for mailbox 0 and attempted to change the extension from the long string of numbers ( that calls the AT&T calling card line) to simply ext 300, but it says : invalid, 300 is already used by 300.

I've changed the Admin code & the manager code & the system cannot be accessed by modem, just locally in a secure locked closet.

Login in as the adminstrator.
Edit mailbox '0', and make sure it's ext. number is '0'
When the Express Mess dials '0', the PBX call rerouting table will send it to the appropriate location.
CHANGE YOUR DEFAULT PASSWORDS!!!

Thanks fifty
passwords are now changed!

Is there a way to do-away with the voicemail box for 0 and simply have it transfer everything to our front desk extension/vmailbox ?

You should keep '0' as a valid option for your main greetings/auto-attendant.
You could make it a 'transfer only' mailbox,, to make it as simple as possible.
