I found instructions on this on page 4-50 of the PDF manual I was given for network emanager. It shows how to create a User Agent to allow someone to go direct to an extension's VM without first ringing the phone. But, the menu options they list don't exist in my network emanager.

It says to go to Advanced Configuration > Voice Mail > Direct Send Voice. I don't have Advanced and as far as I can tell Voice Mail doesn't exist either. The closest I've seen is under System, but it's Voice Mail Data.

How can I set up a button that will go direct to VM without first ringing the phone?

Button assignments are under the Key tab (prog 205). You have to make it a one-touch button with the CNF/TRN #407 programmed into it.

I thought #407 was just for transferring an outside call. That's not correct? We have a button set like that on the receptionist's phone and I just tried it, without an inbound call.

I pressed the button then dialed an inside extension. There was a pause of a few seconds then I got a rapid busy signal.

It's #407 + dial extension number + # + Hang Up

OR

It's #407 + Press DSS/BLF key + Hang Up

Why would I want to hang up? I am trying to leave a voice mail.

Maybe my intent wasn't clear. I want to be able to leave a voice mail for someone in the office, but I don't want their phone to ring.

Log into your mailbox and choose the option to send a message.

That works. Is there any way to make it a little simpler though? Pressing the VM key, entering your password then hitting 2, then the extension is quite a bit more cumbersome than just pressing a button and then the extension.

For now though, this is definitely better than nothing. Thanks.

Set up pilot DN's that point to the mailbox direct, if the ext is 200 use something like 3200 for the pilot.

That works! Now I just need to set up all the pilot DNs and I'm in business.

Thanks!
