I have a customer that already has one DOC/Door phone, but now they are looking at having me install another similiar setup. Can there be two(2)DOC devices on the same Dry contact port. Some techs here at the office think once triggered, both devices will open. Any ideas or suggestions, I've never installed a DOC before,ut there's a first time everything.

Per the Nortel guide.......dated March of 2000, "each doorphone can communicate with up to twelve DOC's, providing control of up to 12 electrical devices through the telephone dial pad".

"Can there be two(2)DOC devices on the same Dry contact port" Same dry contact port on what?
"once triggered, both devices will open." What is the setup? 2 doors with their own door phones? or explain otherwise.
Each DOC can be programmed with their own code via dip switches.
How often is somebody going to ring the front door and ask for reception to open the back door?. I guess if you are Maxwell Smart then being able to control 12 doors/docs with one door phone might come in handy.
One DOC per Door Phone in a normal environment.

Like Curly mentioned, you can daisy-chain DOC's together to operate multiple doors, gates, etc. from a single door phone - the wiring will be different on the type of lock you are disengaging or gate you are opening which is explained in the installation guide - Otherwise, it is typically a one-to-one with Door Phones & BOC's

OK, I have a customer with one door phone & a door unlock unit which works fine, using '6' to open it (default settings).
What they want to do is open a 2nd door (its actually a gate), but don't want to run another cable to the 2nd gate. Can the existing door station be configured to dial another digit 7? to open the 2nd door unlock? As this gate isn't normally used for incoming vehicles (exit only), dialling up the door phone & pressing '7' would be adequate. Can this be done, or would it be easier to put a 2nd door phone next to the system, as a dummy?
Thanks in advance.
