I am not very familiar with these phone systems, as I provide computer support but I need to expand a customers Officeserv 7100 to enable more phone extensions to be used.

The system consists of an MP10 card, Uni card and 16DL12 card. I have fitted a 4DLM daughter card to the MP10 card and have been able to assign a number to one of the ports, but although it can make internal calls, it cannot ring out. Can anyone tell me where on the installation tool software I should be looking to enable outgoing calls for these new extensions?

I would also appreciate a reminder of where in the software I was able to set up an extension number for one of the new ports, sorry it was late when I was tinkering and I forgot to write down the code for quick access.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What software are you running ?
You're using Installation Tool ?
Depending on the software version
you should be using Device Manager

Assign ext number to a port in 724
Set up DT ( direct trunk buttons ) on the phone in 722
Make sure you have a call button set up as well.

Should work fine.

Thanks for the information, I will take a look at this next time I am onsite.

I am using the installation tool as the that is what has been left by the phone company to get in to the settings, but I can also login remotely to the Web Management interface. I have to use the installation tool occasionally to reload the database, as the system resets in the event of a power cut. The system software is 07.11.07 V4.14.0 and web is 07.10.02 V4.04.0. Where can I get device manager if necessary?

My customer isn't happy with the phone company they purchased the system from due to a number of issues including the phone system resetting, so they want me to upgrade it. As I said before unfortunately I am very much a novice with these phone systems, but am quite happy to learn as it is another potential service I can offer to other customers.

All sorted out now thanks.

I used 724 to assign a number and then 720 to copy the buttons from one extension to the new phone.
