Got a customer with Time Warner Lines connected to a NEC DSX80 system. Once in a while he experiences static on a line. Its random, comes and goes. I can duplicate it, but when I isolate the line from the system and check with a butt set, it goes away. Of course, it won't repeat itself while I'm there. anyone else have this problem with TW. I doubt its the DSX, but I can't prove it to the customer.

Had T/W tested the service to see if anything is detected?

They tested remotely. They told the customer everything was good.

Assuming that this voice service is fed via some sort of cable modem, have you bypassed all of the premise wiring and checked directly at the modem? Test the lines w/ premise wiring attached and KSU disconnected?

I have. Of course when I do the problem disappears entirely, including when I hook everything back up to the system again. Strange.

Once in a while he experiences static on a line. Its random, comes and goes. Standard answer for intermittent problems: "I can't do anything unless I'm here and can see it when it does it. Have a nice day". -Hal

Remember when you could take out your trusty Sidekick or Dynatel and determine the problem in 30 seconds with a Stress Test?

Now the stress test is when you have to talk to the cable techs.

Rcaman I do that now and I still can't get some LEC technicians to fix intermittent loop issues. Drives me bonkers.
