I have a customer who wants to buy a "cradle" for his cell phone. I have heard about these things but have not got my hands on one yet. The purpose of the cradle is to convert a cell phone to a analog? signal. In other words you place your cell into this thing which hooks up to your home landline and your cell phone calls ring to your land line. (this is my interp)Anyway he wants to h/u this unit to his NEC electra Elite system on a avail. Trunk port. Has anyone had any exp. with these units? I'm thinking that there may be dtmf issues. Thanks

I acutally use one on my key system at home. It works just fine. There is one issue with DTMF. When you dial a number (after dialing # to signify the "SEND" button), the cradle receives the DTMF and then the cell phone re-sends its, creating a delay. When using vmail, automated attendants, etc., you have to dial slowly and wait for the second DTMF to be heard each time you press a number.

Years ago I remember being able to use a industry standard set or low rate modem on a motorola analog amplifier. I understand motorola has a setup where you should be able to do this. I dont know if it uses cdma or tdma format your customer may have to change their carrier. good luck

When you forward a cell phone's calls the calls and min. are still accrued & billable.
