My clients power was shut off unexpectedly and turned back on within 24 hours, however, the phone system had some glitches after power was reestablished. I need help establishing touch tones. The scenario is like this: I call out on any line with no problem, but if I connect with an automated menu system (like when you call the power company or your cell phone company) I cannot select any of the options presented because no tone is generated by the number key I press to indicate my choice. My client is a realtor with 5 outgoing lines and they are resorting to using cell phones when they call an automated phone system.

Hint: Please fill out your profile completely so we know who we're dealing with. BTW, by "Freelance" do you mean you're a "Trunker"?

I'm not sure what a "Trunker" is. In short, I'm a guy with very little experience trying to help a friend support his phone system. I've looked in the manuals and cannot identify why the phone can call out, but not have touch tones. I was already pretty sure the battery was dead, since it should have lasted 3 days with no problem, but the real issue is the lack of tones when the keys are pressed.

System defaults to Rotary dial, hence you can dial but no touch tones.
Do as suggested by MooreTel.
