I just wanted to validate what I am hearing from techs in Australia, and see if there are alternatives.
The system I recently bought currently runs Software v4.46d, and advanced feature licences are no longer available for this - for SIP, MGI, Voicemail (as a new owner).
Upgrade from v4.46d is a tech visit to site, but with a 50/50 risk that the system won't restart and will need to go back to Samsung for additional fee if that happens.
Does that make sense and are there alternative routes?

Licenses are still available for 4.4x, however there have been lots of feature enhancements since 4.4x (esp on SIP trunk/Extensions)
SW upgrade is tech visit correct. I disagree with the 50/50 risk, *maybe* if the tech doesn't know what they are doing. If the sw upgrade fails then yes it will have to go back to samsung for repair.
