Hello,

We have several outside numbers that are frequently called from our office. Is it possible to add these numbers into the Inter-Tel system as regular extensions so call can be made by dialing the 4 digit extension rather than the entire outside phone number?

I would assume just add an extension and forward all calls to X number would work, I just wanted to double-check. Thank you in advance!!!

Depending on the System Version you have, you can either create a Phantom Extension that forwards to the outside the number or if Phantoms are not available use an unused single-line extension.

Do you mind telling me where to locate those? I have an Axxess System 5.2.

Can't use phatom extensions on that version. If you have available single-line ports (not currently being used for inbound calls) you can call forward them to the outside number.

Why not use System Speed Dial? That would be a whole lot simpler.

I think we only have one single line port that's unused - but I'll double check. Can you define System Speed Dial a bit? I can't find it in the Inter-Tel manual I have.

I know how to program speed dial on the individual end-points.

You have system speed dial bins accessible by any device. You can program SD numbers into the DB and access them by either pressing the SYS SPD key followed by the bin code or you could program a station speed dial to make it a one touch.

I guess I should clarify this would only work to dial the numbers, if you are wanting to transfer to them that is where the phantom/SL would come into play. I answered your question a bit prematurely without fully understanding your request

You can transfer calls to speed dials no problemo. While on a call, press Transfer, SYS SPD, Bin number and pound. Hang up to complete.
