OK - I'm sure this will sound like a dumb question ... what is the purpose of the CTGateway?
I've only been doing basic admin stuff with our phone sys (setting up new extensions, patching, etc) and am having to do a self imposed crash course of the phone system or it will be pulled and given to someone else. Hence my 'Crash Course'.
I've googled the CTGateway, but not really understanding what it talks about, so if someone would be so kind as to give a synopsis of it in 'plain-speak' it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your assitance.

The easiest way I can explain is that it is a way to connect phones to PC's over your network.

OK - but why would they need to be connected to PC's if they go into our PBX?

These are not physical connections. It's an interface between RS232 and TCP/IP. If I were you, I would contact a dealer in the area to try and get some more information. These are some high-level applications and features.

It's sole purpose is to connect to multiple phone systems via IP, request that phone system's OAI stream and consolidating it into one stream for use by applications. Applications that are multi-node enabled can then connect to CT Gateway and 'see' or interact w/ calls/extensions/trunks on any fone systems that are connected to CT Gateway.
Example:
Contact Center Suite Server is licensed for 5 nodes and is connected to a CT Gateway w/ 5 different fone systems configured and is collecting OAI from each. Now a user can monitor/interact/run reports on any device in the fone system network.

Thanks for the speedy replies! And thanks superfoneguy, that makes a bit more sense now. Hopefully I'll be a 'superfonechick' when I grow up!
