Hey Everyone,
Attended my first class today for the Summit system

As most of you know from previous post I have been curious about PRI setup on the Summit as well as the SBX

Anyway I questioned the instructor Mario today about the cable connection from the carrier to the Summit. He mentioned using a network cable between the carrier and the Summit. I questioned it and indicate I thought you need a traditional TI/PRI crossover cable. He said no that they have taken that into account and as a result you can just use a straight network cable between the two.

Not sure how many have done Summits with PRI yet, so I figured I would just pass this along.

The training document/presentation that they used for the class was pretty good outline capacities, slot locations, etc. Today's class has a slightly updated version from the one I found on V-Connect. Not much.

Well, we shall see. This means the Summit is self sensing like a data switch when a data cross over cable is connected. I have found that using cross over cables is defined by the carrier's delivery method. With Cox a fiber pri doesn't need one, but their voice manage IAD soft switch pri does with most phone systems. If the summit works with a standard network cable either way, that is a good thing.

Agreed... Believe me I will have all cables with me to ensure I don't run into a problem.

As you most likely already know, A PRI uses pins 1,2 and 4,5. The Summit dual co ports are wired the same way. First line pins 1,2 second 4,5.
