Hey Guys
I like some advice on the best Tone and Probe brand. Some of the brands that I looked at are Tempo by Greenlee,Fluke Networks and and various other Chinese brands.
The main purpose is to test voice cabling.
I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks Kimmy

My favorite, and I've used that Fluke 3000, is the 711K. I always lose the toners, I guess because the probe never leaves my hand or tool pouch :-) https://www.techtoolsupply.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=711K The problem with the Fluke toner is that it doesn't work like the Progressive/Tiempo/Greenlee. It doesn't seem to let you draw dial tone through the toner where the 711 or 701 or family will. The toner part is about $50.

Spend the extra and get the 711. It has tone setting on the face of the unit, a modular jack, and tone, cont and talk battery on a switch. I love mine much better than the 701.

I have had this one for a couple of years. So far I've managed to break the tip of the probe off (it comes with one spare on the inside). And I also managed to break off the entire tip module, currently held on with black electrical tape. Still works, kinda. The toner, I've gone through 2 9V batteries in a few days. I'm not sure if the button got pressed in my toolbag and it was left on overnight, but awful strange (and annoying) that happened. I leave the probe not in continuity mode as that will kill the battery if the angled BoN leads touch. I lost one toner too, no idea where.
