Hi guys bear with me on this one.
I typically install systems with analog trunks using flex buttons in a square fashion lines 1-5 = buttons 1-5.
In this scenario however I have a new Summit install with a PRI. I put the PRI in trunk group 1 and all analog ports (unused) in trunk group 21. With regard to flex button programming I was thinking that I wanted to create Flex buttons 1-3 in CO Trunk group 1. That way if you wanted to do a conference call you can select another channel by selecting another flex button or for multiple call handling.
Is this the right approach?
Also when I went into Flex button (PGM 115/129) the system does not allow you to program more than one Flex button in the same CO Group which in my case is CO Group1 which encompasses all the channels on the PRI.
Thanks in advance

You need to program Loop buttons.

PRI with 23 channels really needs a different mindset from when using analog trunk groups.
Using a PRI: You can have multiple line appearances on a button (which can be busy) or multiple groups also known as pool buttons, but you cannot have multiple appearances of the same group..because a group/pool button is outbound only. The call has to "reside" somewhere else, either on a line key or better yet, a loop button. Loops are dynamic, any active pri call (in or out) can be on any loop. Along with loop keys some park keys are advisable too, because you can't put a "loop" call on hold and pick it up on any other phone. Think Loops and Parks and you will be much better off.

I understand the mindset and appreciate the challenge. The mechanics are where I am having difficulty especially with the Vertical Documentation. From my old AT&T Definity days - We would create 3-buttons to be call appearances. Essentially 3 trunks available for incoming and outgoing. What would be your recommendation in this scenario? I envision the receptionist receiving/handling 3 calls inbound from the main DID?
I get the part and pickup codes
On the Summit should I be creating 3 loop buttons that touch trunk group 1 with PRI channels 9-31 as members? Not getting how to tie multiple calls to the main receptions without having at least 3-appearances. Square analog is obviously easy. Definity was pretty easy. On the Summit I am at a loss.
thanks again Jon

Loops are not seperate trunks...doesn't matter what trunk the call is on it just uses an available loop. Put all PRI channels into the same group and then put as many loop keys as you want on any phone. Loops are not attached to any line group, that is determined by allowing or disallowing the phone to have access to line groups, like page groups in station attributes, not by what button is on the phone. So the answer to your question is yes.
As an old AT&T and Mitel guy, I find the Summit to be easy enough, once you learn the LG names for options called something else by another manufacturer.

Thanks again for the guidance.
On the bench I tested 3 loop buttons at the reception with a couple analog lines.
Obviously when I go live I will remove the analog and only leave the PRI in the accessible CO group
