I'm just looking for some general guidance.

System:
Option 11C 25.3 w/ M2250 Consoles

Example:

I have 50 extensions, mostly digital and mostly M2616s.

There are 6 trunk groups, each with 2 or more trunks (LS COT emulated by Grandstream SIP gateway).

All extensions should dial "9" to get an outside line.

The problem:

extensions xx01-xx10 should access Trunk Group 1
extensions xx11-xx20 should access Trunk Group 2
extensions xx21-xx30 should access Trunk Group 3
extensions xx31-xx40 should access Trunk Group 4
extensions xx41-xx43 should access Trunk Group 5
extensions xx44-xx50 should access Trunk Group 6

This sounds like a job for Multi-Tenant service, restricting each Tenant to a single Trunk Group, but the attendant can answer all trunk groups (one ICI each).

BUT, I can't give more than one Trunk Group the same ACOD (9), right? So, can I use "9" to invoke BARS and put all the Trunk Groups in a route list? Will it pick the right TG based on tenant access rules? Or will it ignore tenant rules and just pick the first route in the list with an idle trunk?

OR should this be handled by TGAR/TARG? One document I read indicated that BARS & NARS honored TGAR/TARG assignments, while another sources said it doesn't.

TGAR/TARG Or take a look at NCOS. Either of these in my opinion will work better than playing with Bars.
Good Luck,
John

NCOS is an aspect I hadn't considered. I'll dig into that. Thanks!

So, NCOS is tied to FRL, which is hierarchical. That is, a station with FRL 3 can access trunks with FRL 0, 1, 2 or 3. It won't work to isolate a station with FRL 3 to just trunks with FRL 3.

I'm thinking I'm just going to have to try BARS and see if it honors TARG/TRAG settings.
