Hi,
I am having a weird problem with an sx200 elx system. It was taken out of service and now I'm getting set to sell it again.
The system appears to be working fine, and I can program new extensions and they work great. I can also change old extension numbers and that's all fine. Same for trunks etc. The weird part is when I reset the system. When it comes up I have a look and the newly programmed extensions are gone, but the old changed extensions have their new extension numbers. So it seems happy with the old programming and I can change the old numbers but any new stuff is not sticking after a reset.
I used to have a some hair but have now pulled the rest out trying to solve this! I don't have an E8 or any other errors. It comes up and I get 2 dashes as normal. After a bit it does come up with 00 but it seems fine and I think this is normal.
Anyone with any experience with this?

I answered my own question. I defaulted the system and reentered the options, range programmed, tried a reset and everything's there! Just the old db must have been a bit corrupted when I last backed it up.
I think the 00 on the display may have indicated a db problem?
So....back up often and when in doubt, default the system!

You may have a flaky MCC card. If you made changes and then went back and the changes were not there, that indicates a problem with memory, not, necessarily the database. Every time you press Enter after a program change, you are writing data to the MCC main memory. Even with a corrupted database, writing new data would remain as changed or additional data.
Defaulting the system may hide the actual problem.
