My VM card has 5.0.0.1 eeek.... It doens't beep to tell someone to leave a message, which is really a problem.... I found 5.4.3.4 on the web and see the instruction on uploading, no problem, I'm an old computer geek so using FTP is no problem...
My questions is, what do I need to save and restore to keep programming and prompts? I just want to upgrade the OS running on the card not reprogram all weekend! thx in avdance...
I'm guessing the prompts folder but what else?

can anyone confirm all 3 folders, and with all the files and subs?

I wouldn't think so.The DTA folder contains the working data for that particular customer. It shouldn't affect the version number.I'm not sure you even need to reload those folders.Did you bring it back online and test it?

DTA folder definitely contains some .exe and batch files which look like the actual software it is loading under the DOS environment....

The DTA folder contains the SVMI.EXE file which is the main file.It also contains the site data like any routing menus you created etc. It may not need to be reloaded to the card when you upgraded the software but if you defaulted the system you would need to reload the message, prompt, dta and mailbox folders.

ok, i think it is running.... but now it seems like some of the admin passwords wont let me into some menu items like system wide parameters... maybe something to do with a new version?

Yeah, something deffinately went wierd... I can get in using the standard PW XXXX and then I can actually change some items, etc... but when I try to get to E-System Wide Parameters it ask for the "access PW" which it doesn't take the XXXX so it must have changed something somewhere... from the VERY old 5.0.0.1 version I was using...
