I work at a veterinary hospital and recently we moved offices around and people were getting new extension numbers. I attempted to reprogram dss keys to help everyone page the right people (eg one Dr. used to have ext 105, new room has ext 124). When i began reprogramming one of the phones, we ran into issues.
First, I cant seem to find out how to program dss into second levels (shift + programmed key).
Second, I must have hit a key on accident because ever since reprogramming the dss shortcuts, the phones intercom function doesnt work properly. When he is intercommed, name of person calling appears on top but phone does not ring and he cannot talk to the person until he picks up the handset.
Finally, using the query function i found that his paging buttons are programmed properly (i compared working phone vs messed up phone, programmed exactly the same), yet when you click on his designated paging buttons, nothing happens.

Second levels won't work unless allowed in programming. It is a memory conservation issue by default. Your second issue will probably also require a program change as to how the set handles intercom calls. Unsure about the third problem...when you say his paging buttons are you talking about on his set or on other's sets that are trying to page him?

4 of his programmable buttons were programmed to page (zones 1-4) and up until i tried fixing his dss settings, they paged the set zones properly. After trying to program, i can press on the programmed button and nothing happens. I checked under query and it still says it is programmed correctly. Other phones with the same paging buttons programmed work as soon as i hit them.
Also, not sure who programmed these phones originally, but the majority of the phones here already had 2nd level dss extensions set.

Extensions are allowed and denied for each page zone in database programming. Ext 124 was probably not in the database. This is different than user changes that you are doing. A tech would have to go into the database and change programming. If you wish I can private message the phone number of the company that was taking care of this system. The original installing company was bought out by a national company.

So you are saying when i programmed an ext to 124 it probably messed with the database, which is why things are being weird?
And that would be great!
