I have a damaged pa port in STSe. Can I just change the PMU from the damaged pa port STSe KSU to another STSe KSU and have the system programming intact? Sounds too simple. the damaged one has 3.0 software and the refurbed KSU I got has 1.0 software and I have a DECT phone on the system.

Usually the KSUs with FP 1.0 don't have a PMU. Even when it does the battery on the motherboard protects the programming, disconnect from that and it dumps. If you don't already have a backup...then you are looking at programming from scratch.

Thank you Derrick. I,m up and running. the original 3501 had sw ver. 1.01 and now is 3.00.1. It took the system program alright w/hyperterminal. Glad I didn't have to finger bone all that back in!
