I have a 7200 with all the digital phones are forwarded to voice mail when busy on internal calls
But the receptionist would like to set a callback if an extension is on a call but when she presses the DSS key which is red it goes straight to VM but won't give the call back option on the display
Is there a way around this
Thanks

O.K. I'm confused if she sees the sets busy and knows the call will go to voicemail why does she try to send it? Why doesn't she just say I'm sorry he's currently on the phone would you like to hold or be directed to his voicemail.

Basically if she needs to speak to somebody and there on a call she would then like to set a callback so she doesn't forget so in 320 I have the extensions forwarding to VM for internal calls and busy no answer etc which is what they want
If you turn off forward internal to VM
And press their DSS button when they are on a call you get the callback. Option but if you have forward internal to VM when they are on a call and then press the DSS key when they are on a call it goes to their VM message with no option for callback

Callback, barge, etc can't be used when you have a busy forward for internal set.

Change MMC320 to external is your only option that i'm aware of.
You could try playing with the forward delay and/or forward override settings, but no guarantee.

I have this issue with a site with 2 systems linked via SPNET, they can't barge between sites due to the need for busy/no answer forward (SPNET calls are classed as external)

O.k. sorry I was confusing what you are trying to do with transferring a call to a busy station. What I've done at a Police station is if the chief's extension is 4500 I've created a virtual slt of 6500 and put a msg key 6500 on his set so if he's on the phone the dispatcher dials 6500 which doesn't appear or ring his set then hits the msg key. Not a real clean solution but it works for them.
