My client has their "HQ" in Brazil, which is basically a telephone in a closet somewhere. In the past, they've forwarded that # to their main (copper) number here (USA) and all was well.

Now I've come along and sold them a VoIP system with those "evil SIP trunks". For some reason, the calls forwarded from their Brazil # don't work as well as they used to. They can't hear the caller and the caller hangs up. Inbound calls directly from Brazil work fine. Inbound calls from anywhere work fine. The only issue they're having is with this forwarded line. I opened a trouble-ticket with the SIP provider and everything checks out OK.

My workaround idea is to obtain a SIP trunk with a Brazilian # and have their "HQ" number ported over. According to the client, dealing with the Brazilian phone company is a nightmare.

Anyone in a similar situation or have another idea?
