How does one go about creating a new extension, like if I wanted an extension of 1116 and my current extension is 116

1116 would conflict with ext.111. You would have to do a database rebuild to build out for 4 digit extension and remove all conflicts.

That sounds like a nightmare and a chore. So the system i'm on was programmed then for 3 digit extensions.

OK so would a small solution be to program inside the DID Translation Table use the default extension of 116 and set the CO digits to say 1116 to 1116 which means any calls that go to 1116 would default to ext 116

Tell DID digits 1116 to terminate on 116.

How hard would it be to rebuild the extensions to 4 digits or however many using VMMI

Probably take 10-15 minutes. More if you have a voice mail with extension specific special translations.

I don't know exactly what our voicemail uses but I am sure its based on extensions. Would I just go into VMMI and re-label the extensions and then submit the changes, if my voice mail with extension specific special translations I would need to re-do those as well then.
