not sure if this is the right place to post but they do have an sts ksu. she says often when a call is answered they hear a squeal simular to a fax tome for a second. then they hear the customer and the call is normal from there on. of coure tel co says its not their end. im dont remember having this come up before. any ideas on the cause. thanks dave

This is usually an interaction with the telco but you could make sure that the STS group listening feature is disabled, that sometimes helps.

Yep, just extend the ring delay timer for the CO lines to 4-5 so that the caller ID data has already been received by the system before the phones start ringing.
