STS with twelve lines. When customer sets up a conference call and talks on any speakerphone in the office the other people can't hear him. If he picks up the handset, everything is jiggy.
He said this just started happening. I tried adjusting the volume db a little but doesn't seem to help. I tried setting up a conference call and he's right. I could hardly be heard. Anyone have any idea, or do I just have to sell him a Summit?

No changes in service? Just started happening too often follows something else that just started happening.

I suggest that if the customer is only going to do a three party (two outside) conf that maybe the telco can provide that feature using the flash key.

Hi Derrick,
I suggested three-way calling which is what we have out here. They agreed to try that. However, sometimes two people call in and they want to conference everyone together. The phone company is Cox TV, so they have a switch at the premise which they say is fine. Each individual line sounds fine when calling out on the speaker phone.I could try and test it by buying something from "The Sandman" Cox won't send out 1000 hertz tone. It's just strange. You know I think I will try a different KSU first. Maybe it"s the backboard. I will update.

I'd look at the loop current, I'm betting it's low, getting a cable company to fix it is another issue.

Have you tried swapping out the phone that they are using to make the conference calls? If it is one of the regular 24 button sets the mic's on them can cause issue.

Yea, like posted notes stuck over the mike hole.

Like I said in the original post, all the 24-button speakerphones react the same. And like you Derrick, I've seen some pretty nasty stuff hanging around the mic. Anywhere from posted notes to raisin bran cereal. But I checked that. Bill, the current is running around 35 ma. And as you might know there window goes all the way up to 100 ma. out here. I hate these kind of problems. I was going to purchase a STSE KSU but it seem everyone is running short of those guys, so the cost has escalated. Best bet= Summit. Now I just have to talk them into it.
