What release BCM? You will probably have to revert to an older version of Java. I think the correct Java is in the BCM package so you would just have to find and uninstall the one currently on your laptop then load element manager from the BCM. If it is not there the Oracle site has all the older ones I believe you'll need the one down around 4.??.

i'll have to look at it tomorrow,but i just needed to install a keycode to add 2 lines to the main bcm.
i should be able to just telset my keycode right?

Depends on which BCM

You need to make sure the BCM has updated patches in some cases.
With XP and older BCMs you needed to backup java to 1.5
