i just installed a bcm 50,
the client has published his main number and fax number as the same.
ive never set this up but i guess with the call pilot it has a built in fax switch that if the incoming call is a fax the cp will send it to the fax machine ?am i right

Yes - the CP will sense for the fax.
But it only does it during the Auto Attendant greeting. If you should answer the line it will not sense it.
You need to tell the CP the DN for the fax unit.
I use it all the time for my fax. Same number as my office number.

where is that setting in the call pilot ive never seen or noticed it

I have not seen the setting for this if I go in through the phone.
Not saying it is not there, I just haven't seen it.

Go in with your computer.
Main Menu
Configuration
Fax properties ( last item under config )
Just put in the extension number.

Nice thing about this is that if the "fax line" is busy and it rolls over to line 2 or 3 etc.... and AA answers it, it will still go to the fax.
