We have a problem that started last week. I had several people report a loud static noise and sometimes the call drops. It is on both outgoing and incoming. Station to station does not have static. I have had the telco provider provide intrusive testing after hours and they have not found any errors. I witnessed the Axxess T1 card give Red Alarm and Yellow Alarm briefly. I plugged into T1 card and Bipolar Violations, Out-of-Frame Errors, and Frame Slip errors are way higher than threshold. We have a call into our phone tech to see if the problem is our system(Bad T1 card). I was first suspecting the Telco line due to the HCRC errors on another T1 card going to Network.
Has anyone seen these errors to point to a faulty T1 card or something else in the system? We have an Axxess 8.223.

Well our Telephone tech was swamped and he said shut down system and reseat T1C card.
After 2 hours, no errors and no complaints from users, so I think that fixed it.

The quickest way to at least attempt to rule out a bad card is to loop it back to itself. If the errors go away, bets are good that you either have a telco issue or a cabling issue. I will typically loop it at the card first, if it comes up error free loop it at the smart jack end through all of the cabling. That will tell you definitively where the issue is. Or you could reboot the card and cross your fingers:)

Thank You for getting back to me. I Could try to loop but I have never done that before and I am the administrator not the technician. But in order to speed up the resolution, how would I loopback the T1 card? Jim

I am having this same issue. Telco (PaeTec) did intrusive testing and found that there is nothing wrong. I've reset the T1 card and that hasn't done the trick.
Trouble is it's not a consistent problem, sometimes it there is static and sometimes there is not.
Any suggestions on how i can figure this out?
Thanks,

Beholder, I noticed you said reset. I shut the system down and unplugged the T1C card from the back plane and plugged it back in (RESEAT).
Our tech mentioned a connection problem with the card and backplane.
Also Chris mentions the loopback tests to isolate your system from the Telco. Jim

To loop you want to create a jack/plug that takes pin 1 to 4 and 2 to 5. This will put Tx to Rx. You should use diagnostics which varies from Axxess to 5000 on how you do it however use diagnostics to monitor various error condions. Usually static points to clocking/framing errors. If you see such errors when plugged into the telco switch but now when looped, you just proved where the trouble lies. I would recommend that you consult your dealer for assistance with the diagnostics if you are not familiar with it.
