My TVA50 seems to be acting a bit peculiar. Twice now voice mails from customers have been delivered several days late.
Someone calls and leaves a message on the 28th of October and the notification lamp did not light until Nov 1st. I verified the date and time stamp against the caller ID record in the TA824 and confirmed that the message was indeed left on Oct 26th.
The same thing happened about a week prior.
When I leave a test voice mail, calling from outside the system from a different phone number using the menus as everyone else would, it works correctly every time.
I also had a different mailbox which seemed to be hung. Trying to access it returned the "mailbox in use" recorded message. I deleted it and re-created it with all of the original settings including message forwarding to another mailbox after 5 minutes elapse. I created a test voicemail in the new box, however it never forwards.
I confirmed all settings via KX-TVA console, and have made sure all feature changes were applied/saved. I also restarted the TVA50 via the maintenance console. The problem persists.
Me thinks a portion of the software or feature database has become corrupted?
The system has been up and running since November of 2007. It has Version 2 of the Firmware/Software installed.
Thanks Don Resor Los Angeles

Upgrade it to the latest 3.15 firmware. Also, how much storage is left on the unit? Might be time to delete some messages and free up some space.

There are only 3 vm boxes on the system. It has the memory expansion board which was installed when the system went in. Yes updating the firmware sounds like a very good idea. Thanks Don Resor Los Angeles P.S. The Endora image is a moving gif. I could not understand why it would not "animate". Seems if you hold your mouse cursor over the image, you can watch Endora put paper down with a look of urgency on her face

By the way what is the best way to get the TVA50 version 3.15 firmware?
In the past access for version 2.0 was available through the KXTA list, but apparently no more.
I have filled out the Panasonic Partner Portal application form for "Technical Support Reseller for UNIFIED COMMUNICATIONS ONLY".
My associate sells/installs and services Panasonic PaBX as well as others I've done the programming for new systems with him (in addition to my main-line work), but I don't know if we can grind out 20k+ in sales per quarter.

Pulling my hair out (almost).
I downloaded both firmware updates for the TA824 and TVA50.
Backed up TA824 settings. Powered off, opened the TA824, pulled the cards, connectors etc. Cleaned with Caig ProGold (Intercom Board, DISA, Second Ext Card connections). Re-assembled. Powered on, confirmed operation. Updated TA824 to Firmware Version 3.1.1. TA824 working as before.
Backed up TVA50. Powered down using "Shutdown" button, then switched off.
Removed three cover screws. Removed boards and brushed off dust from solder side. Cleaned connectors on boards with Caig ProGold (Lan card, memory cards 'Master and Slave memory' LED power/Fault connectors, Low Voltage power switch connections. Powered system on and it booted successfully. Confirmed that Ext 165 and 166 would answer when called from intercom.
Since Firmware 3.15 is only one file, I wanted to be sure that the re-used files from V2.0 were not corrupt. Re-installed V2.0 SystemProgram50(2.18aUS), SystemProgram50IPL(v0.08), SystemProgram50Kernel(v0.14) and DspProgram50(v0.20. Restarted system during the process by the instructions.
Again confirmed that EXT 165 and 166 would answer after boot-up.
Proceeded with update of SystemProgram50-US-V315. Re-started system as per instructions.
Made changes to reflect use of #7 and #77 in retrieving new messages and transfers. Confirmed changes were accepted through procedure outlined in data sheet and by testing via dial-in.
I have confirmed that all mailboxes will turn on the msg waiting lamp when called from my cell phone.
The "auto-forward" of messages from one extension to another still is not working.
Settings are:
Auto Forwarding Active: Yes Mailbox Number: 161 Delay Time: 00:05 minutes Forwarding Mode: Move
I re-created one of the problem mailboxes from which messages are moved. At first the mailbox msg lamp would not light after leaving a voice mail. I shutdown and restarted the system, and tried again. The re-created v-mailbox's msg lamp now lights when a voice mail is left. It seemed odd to require a restart of the TVA50 to make it work.
I confirmed that messages can be transferred to another extension manually and the TVA50 does turn on the message light.
All settings changed were confirmed with Apply and/or Ok.
I am starting to think that I may have to re-initialize the system and start from scratch.
Or maybe even the memory battery may need to be changed, though I believe this only keeps the calendar and clock running in the event of power disruption. Seems the length of time in which the clock falls behind in minutes is increasing every year. Seems it was about 10 minutes slow when I checked it after the the end of DST. The system has been up and running now 7-8 years.
I suppose the only choice left is to call support. My associate has dealt with them in the past many times and has said they can be in his opinion "quite rude".
I do not know what else to try.

Now that 24 hours have elapsed, the msg lights for the various extensions do not light when a message is left. It seems that if I do a shutdown and reboot the system's operation in this realm has some normalcy until many hours pass.
I wonder now if I am having flash memory failures. I know that flash memory is only good for so many reads/writes. Though I have no idea what happens when it starts to fail.
